AHA Moments Build Confidence.

Finding your AHA!

  • It’s the expression on a child’s face when they finally overcome a challenge.

  • It’s the smile that comes with the recognition of “I did it!”

  • It’s the tear in a caregiver’s eye when they see their child breakthrough a boundary that had been placed long before they were given a chance to try.

  • It’s doing something for the first time as a family.

Let’s make some “AHA!” moments together.

What is OT?

Occupations are the things we do that are meaningful to us. Occupations reflect the roles we play in our families and communities, our personal pleasures and hobbies, as well as the tasks we perform to maintain our health on a regular basis. Occupational therapy is the therapeutic practice of using evidence-based methodologies and individualized treatment strategies to optimize an individual’s engagement and independence in their occupations and roles.

For kids, one of the most (if not THE most) critical occupations is PLAY. Through play, they foster the foundational motor, cognitive, sensory processing, self-care, and socialization skills needed to optimize their growth, development, and engagement. When developmental differences and other challenges impact a child’s play, this effects their ability to develop so many other critical skills. Pediatric OT is about giving children the opportunity to engage with their peers, fulfill roles as family members, students, and teammates, and be as independent in their daily lives as possible.
